If ADHD is suspected, other diseases must be excluded
Developmental disorders are the topic at the big annual conference of child and adolescent psychiatrists in Hamburg
If a child is suspected to be suffering from Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), the diagnosis should be multiaxial, that is, it should be followed up on physical, mental and life-history level. Before treatment, it must be ensured that it is ADHD. Individual ADHD-typical symptoms may also be signs of other mental disorders or developmental abnormalities.
