Sustainable, automated and digital solutions

Under the motto “Multiply Your Value”, the MULTIVAC Group is presenting its broad portfolio of innovative processing and packaging solutions for the food industry at Anuga FoodTec 2024. In focus: the comprehensive slicing portfolio as well as holistic lines, which, thanks to high levels of digitalization and automation, help to make production processes efficient and resource-saving.Visitors will find the MULTIVAC Group in Hall 8.1 (Stand C10) as well as in a tent on the outdoor area, where the processing machines be shown live.

Broad slicing portfolio for cold cuts
The comprehensive line control MULTIVAC Line Control (MLC) enables efficient, central operation of all process steps - from slicing to loading, thermoforming and separating the packs through to inspection, labeling and box loading. Flying recipe changes will be demonstrated at the trade fair, which significantly reduce start-up losses when changing products and thus save resources and costs.

For the slicing and packaging of small and medium-sized batches, a flow wrap line will be on display at the trade fair, which includes a new slicer in the entry-level range as well as a universally applicable flow packer W 510, which is characterized by easy operation and cleaning. An application for packaging sliced cheese will be shown at the trade fair.

Packaging of fresh meat and ready meals
For the economical portioning and packaging of fresh meat, a thermoforming packaging line will be exhibited that offers maximum flexibility, low give-away and low packaging costs. The heart of the line is a new high-performance portioning machine from TVI, which is characterized by maximum product yield, best cutting quality and weight accuracy, as well as a new weight sorting system for equalized portions with the lowest giveaway. The compact thermoforming packaging machine R3 is used for packaging, which can also efficiently process environmentally friendly, recyclable mono-materials and which can be designed to suit customer needs thanks to its modular design. The line is also equipped with a new cross-web labeler for compact thermoforming packaging machines, which offers great efficiency with low investment costs. All process steps – portioning, feeding, packaging and labeling – can be controlled via the central MLC line control.

From the traysealing area, a packaging line for packaging ready meals will be presented that offers outstanding performance with exceptionally efficient use of the available production space. A full wrap label, which encloses all four sides like a band, ensures attractive labeling of the packs.

Entry-level solutions for small and medium-sized processors
MULTIVAC will also be providing an insight into its broad portfolio of compact solutions for the food industry at the trade fair. The production of different packaging, whether skin, MAP or stretch packaging, is demonstrated using compact tray sealers. For the packaging of fruit and vegetables, Top Close labeling is an innovative concept that enables fresh produce trays to be closed with labels in a resource-saving manner.

Solutions for the bakery industry
The ROLLFIX prime dough sheeter from FRITSCH can accommodate dough portions of up to around 20 kilograms thanks to a more powerful drive system. A double spindle on the feed roller provides even more power and, together with the selectable feed speed, allows for greater degrees of rolling. The intuitive control concept makes operating the machine easy. The roll-out programs can be created quickly and easily and saved clearly with the corresponding product image and name. The stainless steel construction not only leads to a high level of robustness - and therefore a longer service life - but also to excellent hygiene properties. Fresh products are baked daily in an open bakery.

In addition, the MULTIVAC Cooling@Packing System, a vacuum application for cooling baked goods, will be presented in Cologne, which can be integrated into thermoforming packaging machines and enables the packaging of sensitive baked goods without any loss of quality. Packaging immediately after baking ensures greater freshness and a longer shelf life for the products. In addition, energy costs for product cooling can be saved and production capacity can be increased thanks to shorter baking times. Last but not least, the solution is characterized by its small space requirement in bakeries.

Processing solutions in live use
Another MULTIVAC Group exhibition area in a tent on the outdoor area (in front of Hall 8.1) is dedicated to cutting fresh meat and cold cuts. Machines in live use will be presented there: including various portioners from the GMS series, which enable residue-free portioning thanks to 3D shaping, as well as MULTIVAC slicers in different performance classes.
