Online training course "Poultry know-it-alls"
The Tierwohl Initiative (ITW) provides all companies participating in the initiative with the online training course “Poultry Know-It-Alls” free of charge. The ITW's first web training offer includes comprehensive training for poultry farmers and carers, which can be carried out at any time from home and used as annual ITW certification. The “poultry know-it-all” was conceived in cooperation with the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and the Ulmer Verlag. “This online offer from the ITW is a great idea - science can combine excellently with practice here. Especially since the offer is to be continuously updated according to new findings, "says Prof. Dr. Robby Andersson, professor at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences at the Department of Animal Husbandry and Products, his conclusion.
From animal welfare, stable climate, herd management and animal health to feeding: The “poultry know-it-all” offers different modules for chicken and turkey farmers as well as for the animal carers employed on the farms. Each learning unit conveys the test knowledge on the individual topics in compact form in the form of photos, diagrams and videos. In addition, the e-learning platform offers a detailed reference work for questions or difficulties understanding the various topics.
The "poultry know-it-all" can be carried out as part of the annual training certificate of companies that take part in the ITW. After the successful examination of individual modules, the participants receive a certificate per course as well as an overall certificate for the implementation of the complete range of training courses.

About the Initiative animal welfare
With the Tierwohl (ITW) initiative launched in 2015, partners from agriculture, the meat industry, food retail and gastronomy commit themselves to their joint responsibility for animal husbandry, animal health and animal welfare in livestock husbandry. The Animal Welfare Initiative supports farmers in implementing measures for the welfare of their livestock that go beyond the legal standards. The implementation of these measures is monitored across the board by the Animal Welfare Initiative. The product seal of the Tierwohl Initiative only identifies products that come from animals from participating companies in the Tierwohl Initiative.
