Additional purchase: Frutarom continues to grow

With two acquisitions, Frutarom Industries Ltd. further into the Savory Solutions unit. In December 2010, the "Industrial Spices Business" division of the Norwegian company Rieber & Son ASA, in January 2011 the British company East Anglian Food Ingredients Ltd. (EAFI) taken over. Both companies are specialists in the field of flavors, spices and functional ingredients for meat, fish and convenience products. With these acquisitions, Frutarom is consistently implementing its growth strategy in 2011 as well.

Both the EAFI company and Rieber & Son's Industrial Spices Business unit have a comprehensive portfolio of high-quality products as well as state-of-the-art technological resources and the corresponding know-how. In addition, there is a growing and well-established customer base in Great Britain and Scandinavia.

The market for savory and convenience products plays a key role for Frutarom. Changing living conditions and eating habits mean that savory snacks and convenience products are in ever greater demand. The company identified this sector as a growth engine at an early stage and has been systematically expanding this area for years.

In the past four years, Frutarom has already acquired Christian Hansen's Savory unit and the Gewürzmüller and Nesse companies. The integration of the company EAFI and the spice division of Rieber is a further step for Frutarom to position itself sustainably in the market for savory flavors and spices. The acquisition of the Savory unit from Rieber is primarily intended to consolidate the position on the Scandinavian market. In Great Britain, Frutarom is already the leading manufacturer of "sweet" flavors - the acquisition of EAFI now expands the product portfolio to include savory flavors.

The Frutarom Savory Solutions GmbH

As a business unit of the Frutarom Group, Frutarom Savory Solutions GmbH develops tailor-made solutions for the meat, fish and convenience industries. The product portfolio includes, among other things, savory aromas, spice mixtures and starter cultures. In order to expand the technological know-how, the product portfolio and the reach of this business unit, Frutarom acquired the Gewürzmühle Nesse in 2006 and the premium supplier Gewürzmüller in 2007. Further acquisitions will open up new markets around the world. All production facilities are state-of-the-art, for example, the 2005 inaugurated branch in Korntal-Münchingen is one of the most modern and safest spice processing plants. The long-term goal of Frutarom Savory Solutions GmbH is to become a leading global manufacturer in the market for spicy flavors and ingredients for meat, fish, snack and convenience products.
