Handtmann offers a comprehensive solution for the production of pet food sticks with product preparation and molding process directly on grids. Depending on the production volume, different technology from Handtmann Inotec can be used for product preparation. For the wolfing process, the Handtmann Inotec industrial wolf is suitable for shredding frozen blocks and fresh raw materials. Three models with different performance characteristics are available for medium to high-industrial production of up to 9 tons per hour in continuous operation. The particularly effective and gentle mincing is achieved by the extremely robust upper chopping auger, the conveyor auger underneath and the high-quality cutting system consisting of a disc-knife combination. All machine parts that come into contact with the product are made of stainless steel and are designed for high utilization and service life. The mixer model IM P with parallel paddle shafts for cold, viscous product masses is particularly suitable for the mixing process step in the production of pet food sticks. The optimal mixing geometry and the variably adjustable mixing from gentle to intensive always ensure a perfect mixing result. Emptying takes place very quickly and gently at the same time via one or two outlet flaps on the mixer. The texture of the product can be specifically designed through individual process steps, vacuum, mixing direction, mixing time, mixing interval and pause times. The Handtmann Inotec mixer models are available in variable usable volumes from 50 to 6.000 liters. Optionally, the additional process of ultra-fine comminution can be integrated into the product preparation using the Handtmann Inotec FZK.

For the subsequent portioning and forming process of the sticks, the FS 510 multi-lane forming system is used in combination with a VF 800 vacuum filler. Filling grinder technology from Handtmann can be integrated as an option. Here, portions are portioned and minced to final grain size in one process step. If desired, hard parts can be effectively separated at the same time in conjunction with the associated volume separator. In principle, the molding system is suitable for a wide range of product masses up to a filling pressure of up to 35 bar. In addition, a wide variety of shapes is possible in the production segment of snacks and treats with countless options: cubes, bars, pellets, hearts and other 3D shapes such as dog bone shapes. Example recipes include classics made from beef, chicken and fish, but also new trend products made from pure insect protein or mixed recipes that contain a certain proportion of insect protein. Production can take place in multiple lanes on up to 24 lanes at the same time. The filling flow divider with servo drive ensures an exact speed of the rotors in the filling flow divider, which leads to a constant product flow without pressure fluctuations and thus to the most precise final weights of the individual sticks. The filling flow divider ejects the filling material into multi-lane filling streams via the flexibly exchangeable format parts. The products are separated directly at the outlet, either with wire or knife, uninterruptedly linearly with the product speed directly on the grid. The process of thermal treatment, drying and packaging can be carried out using systems from the strategic Handtmann partners Fessmann and Multivac.
