New industrial grinder for frozen blocks and fresh raw materials

Handtmann Inotec Wolf model IW 250

Handtmann Inotec now offers the latest generation of grinding technology in the form of the IW series for the production of meat products and pet food. Typical applications in the area of meat and sausage products or meat analogues are salami, minced meat and boiled sausage as well as fine meat products - and in pet food, wet food, sticks and bites as well as chunks in gravy. The three available models are designed for medium to high industrial production with an output of up to 9 tons per hour in continuous operation. Both deep-frozen blocks down to -20° Celsius and fresh raw materials are processed reliably and at the same time in a way that is gentle on the product. Due to the high flexibility of the IW grinder technology, both the frozen and the fresh material can be shredded without changing the cutting set, i.e. without changing knives and perforated disks. This is made possible by the cleverly designed combination of the feed auger with the wolf auger and the special universal cutting set, which produces both a clean cutting pattern and a high throughput. With a perforated plate diameter of 250 mm, the IW 250 can grind up to 5.200 kg of frozen raw material per hour to a grain size of 3 mm and up to 6.100 kg/h of fresh meat. The IW 300 and IW 400 models use the corresponding perforated disc diameters of 300 mm and 400 mm to grind frozen material to a grain size of 7.200 mm at up to 8.000 kg/h and up to 8 kg/h respectively. If special applications are required, a wide range of knives and end hole discs are available.

With a hopper volume of 550 or 670 liters, the grinders in the IW series have a generously dimensioned product reserve and can be fed using an automated belt feed or lifting and tilting device. They grind the supplied raw materials into final grain sizes of 3 to 30 mm (IW 300/IW 400: 8 to 30 mm) on conveyor belts, buffer hoppers or box systems or cutter wagons placed below the outlet. Long service lives thanks to long-lasting, high-quality machine components ensure low maintenance costs, even in continuous industrial operation. The new IW grinders can be integrated into the Handtmann Inotec line control and safety circuitry as an integral part of automated process lines. A hygienic, easy-to-clean design and the design of all machine parts with product contact in stainless steel or food-grade plastic ensure a hygienic production process. Overall, a continuous and reproducible process is guaranteed thanks to constant conveying performance and digital process monitoring.
