Under the motto "Oktoberfest" steaks, roasts, specialties and cuts were presented under a small marquee. A skewer turned in the tent and the team even had a small oven with them to bake a meat loaf directly on site. The products were then evaluated by 14 judges and some were tasted.

The winners were announced in a dignified setting in the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium on Sunday evening (local time). In addition to the overall performance, 4 different product categories were also evaluated. When the victory for the German team in the overall standings was announced as the icing on the cake, all the dams broke in the capital of California and the arena was engulfed in a sea of black, red and gold flags.

“The entire team delivered the perfect performance to the point. The fact that we managed to achieve such a triumph in these turbulent times makes me incredibly proud. There is a lot of work behind this success. Thank you to everyone who made this possible, especially ours

sponsors, all supporters and our families,” said team captain Dirk Freyberger, who was visibly moved after the award ceremony. Team manager Werner Braun from Wiedenzhausen also let his emotions run free. "This victory means so much for our German butcher's trade, I still can't believe that we just managed to do it," said Braun with tears in his eyes.
