Responsibility – that is the main theme of Anuga FoodTec 2024. Koelnmesse as the organizer together with the DLG (German Agricultural Society) as the technical and non-material sponsor and the Advisory Board of Anuga FoodTec decided on this together. Responsibility sends a clear signal to the entire food and beverage industry: The supplier industry and its leading international trade fair are facing current and future challenges and are committed to their responsibility as part of the entire production, packaging and logistics process. The overarching theme will set trends across the trade fair, will be picked up by the exhibitors and also reflected in the congress and event programme.
"Responsibility" is a central concern for the global supplier industry. Because not only since the costs for energy have increased significantly, the supplier industry of the food and beverage producers has been interested in continuously checking all processes in the value chain for their performance, their cost structure and their use of resources. Of course, cost savings are a powerful motivator for companies, but the factor of compatibility with the environment and climate plays a significant role in an industry that is not geared towards short-term success, but acts holistically and sustainably. Responsibility therefore also means: The manufacturers of food and beverages work together with their suppliers on concepts and strategies for the responsible use of resources. The focus is also on sustainable procurement in the food supply chain. These essential driving forces for innovations, ideas and solutions relating to the processing, production, packaging and transport of food and beverages are “responsibility”.
"The food and beverage industry is systemically relevant in many respects," says Matthias Schlueter, Director of Anuga FoodTec. “In doing so, it relies on the innovative power of its suppliers and constantly asks for solutions and new ideas itself in order to adapt its products and processes to current requirements. The supplier industry is also setting itself high goals in order to meet its responsibilities,” Schlueter continues. "Anuga FoodTec will show this, discuss it and develop it further together with everyone involved."
The date has been set: Anuga FoodTec, International Suppliers Fair for the Food and Beverage Industry, will take place in Cologne from March 19th to 22nd, 2024.
