Halal certification for Loryma ingredients
According to the European Halal Certification Institute (EHZ), all Loryma ingredients comply with the EHZ Halal standard. The corresponding confirmation was issued after an audit. These include, for example, the wheat texturates (Lory® Tex), the binding components of the Lory® Bind series, various coatings and breadcrumbs, starch mixtures, stabilization systems and Lory® Protein. These products serve as texturizers for plant-based meat alternatives and to optimize a wide variety of applications. Loryma initiated the certification process due to the increased demand for such products.
The Halal certificate confirms that the functional mixtures do not contain any substances that are not permitted under Islamic law. A market analysis by the Imarc Group earlier this year puts the global market for halal products at nearly two billion US dollars in 2021 and forecasts average annual growth of more than eleven percent over the period 2022-2027. “The halal certificate was in high demand from customers from predominantly Muslim countries and is of great importance.
