THE meat bible par excellence!

Book - GOOD MEAT, Copyright: Gebrüder Otto Gourmet GmbH

The brothers Wolfgang and Stephan Otto from the Heinsberg meat specialist OTTO GOURMET, together with the outstanding food photographer Thomas Ruhl, have published a completely revised and updated edition of their successful book “Gutes Fleisch”.

The first edition in 2009 was named “Best Cookbook in the World” and has since established itself as a standard work and the “meat bible” par excellence. At this point in time, hardly anyone in the general public had yet given a clear conscience to the issues of animal welfare, animal welfare and enjoyment, and no one had given any thought to general quality criteria for meat.

This book changed everything! It has brought high-quality meat closer to the German public. The issue of animal welfare has received widespread attention among the population and the pressure on business and politics has now (very) slowly led to necessary changes. The quality criteria for GOOD MEAT (genetics, species-appropriate husbandry and natural feed, slaughter age and maturation as well as 100% traceability) have been generally recognized.

There are now a number of good books on the subject of meat on the book market, all of which are more or less similar. So it was time for the authors to take on the pioneering role again and, with the new and completely revised edition, to take up current topics and once again determine the discussion of the coming decade.

In times of climate change, meat substitute products and the need for regenerative agriculture, the enjoyment of meat is examined in this book for the first time against the background of the defining themes of “Generation Responsibility”. The background information presented here will have an impact in the future, just as it did with the first edition of the book “Gutes Fleisch”.

In addition to all the innovations, “GUTES FLEISCH” has retained its actual strengths: it is still the best overview work on the subject on the market, with comprehensive knowledge, great pictures and outstanding recipes. From the beginning of October it will be available in bookstores everywhere or directly on the OTTO GOURMET website.
